About

My name is Richard and I am PhD. student, researcher and developer in the physical field at the Czech Technical University in Prague. Currently, I am studying for a PhD degree in Physical Engineering at the Department of Physical Electronics, Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering.

 

I hold a Master degree in Laser technology and electronics from Czech Technical University in Prague. My field of research is solid-state lasers for near- and mid-infrared laser generation. Now,  I work on a project where we want to generate of short-pulses in mid-infrared spectral range.

 

Except for work at University, I like to relax on the climbing wall or practise Jiu-Jitsu with my friends. Alternatively, play the Pink Floyd or Bob Dylan on the guitar.

Research

I am employed at the Department of Physical Electronics, Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, the Czech Technical University in Prague. I do research into solid-state lasers that generate in near- and mid-infrared spectral range, mostly the erbium lasers.  The latest project I work at is focused on generating short pulses in mid-infrared spectral range. I am an author of several journals and conference papers. Below the latest publications can be seen.

Teaching

I assist in two laboratory during my PhD study:

 

Vacuum Physics and Technology

 

The principles of vacuum generation, pumping process, materials and vacuum installation parts were introduce to student during this course Half of a semester I assisted prof. Král in vacuum laboratory during practical exercises.

 

Advanced Laser Technique Laboratory

 

Several exercise were prepared for students in this laboratory. They principles and measurement of parameters of infrared and femtosecond lasers, design of laser resonator for passively mode-locked laser, and other. During the laboratory I supervise one of the exercise: Spectroscopy of the light sources.

 

 

TÝDEN VĚDY NA FJFI 2018 - POSTAVTE SI LASEROVÝ ZAMĚŘOVAČ

 

Přijďte si sami sestavit oku bezpečný diodově čerpaný laserový systém, který se v praxi využívá pro detekci a zaměřování vzdálených objektů, měření vzdáleností či v optických komunikacích. Bude se jednat o laser založený na aktivním prostředí Er:Sklo vyzařující záření na vlnové délce 1530 nm.
